Edward Dunn & Carlo Briscoe established Reptile in 1988, in the same year that we married. We are both fine art graduates, only discovering the wonders of ceramics at evening classes with Angus Suttie in Lambeth and then Don Dewar in Bolt Court - both highly inspirational teachers.

In 1992 we started to produce large tile panels for Waitrose supermarkets for their fish and meat counters. We were also selling tiles and wall plaques through Liberty as well as tile shops and craft galleries throughout Britain. We soon needed more space and relocated to our present location, also an ideal place to raise our two children.

Reptile specialise in the production of colourful and contemporary tiles for both private and commercial clients and have work located throughout the world. Commissions have included tiles for food halls, swimming pools, restaurants, hotels and hospitals as well as countless bathrooms and kitchens. For examples of these look at our commissions page.
We have appeared in numerous books, magazines and television programmes.
Interests which have inspired our painting include archaeology, beach combing, gardening, walking and snorkeling.

Subject matter is varied and includes underwater scenes, animals, birds, plants and landscapes. The tiles are always colourful and vibrant and often humorous.
